09/01/03 - Van Wert, OH

Some fans are willing to go further than a postal worker in a hail storm to deliver themselves to the party which is a Montgomery Gentry Concert... Here's testimony from the Van Wert Times-Bulletin:

"...rain stopped about 10 p.m. just as Montgomery Gentry took the stage. Some fans made their way through the mud to the front of the stage to catch a close glimpse of the duo.  Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry greeted their fans with handshakes, high-fives and even signed a few autographs during their performance.  One fan couldn't believe he was standing so close to Montgomery Gentry. Instead of just keeping the memory to himself, he took a picture with his cell phone and sent it to a friend.  "Can you believe I'm standing that close? I'm like two feet away from Montgomery Gentry," said the fan.  The bad boys of country entertained the crowd with hits such as "All Night Long," "Speed" and "Lonely and Gone."  About 45 minutes into Montgomery Gentry's performance, rain came pouring down forcing many fans to bring their umbrellas and ponchos back out.  Some fans left, but many stayed and tried to dance to the music which was tough for some due to the soggy, muddy ground. It were these diehard fans who lived out the I-just-want-to-party attitude of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry."

The duo's new album, "My Town," hit No. 3 on Billboard's country charts, and with their rough-and-ready visual image and songs like "Bad For Good," they seem like a perfect love match with the Harley constituency."
